Pre-School

Hours: 8:45am to 3pm, Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays, during term time only.

Ages: 2½ – 5 years

There are two sessions available each day, excluding Bank Holidays; children can stay all day:

Morning session: 8:45am to 11:45pm

Afternoon session: 12pm to 3pm

Children may be registered for either one session, or both. If registered for the full day, a cooked lunch can be provided from the school canteen at an extra charge, or a packed lunch may be brought from home.

The pre-school provides a warm and welcoming environment for its children. Enthusiastic, well trained and dedicated staff encourages each child to develop self-confidence and promote their social, emotional and educational skills.

We follow the standards set by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EFYS) curriculum, which concentrates on:

  • Communication and language
  • Physical development
  • Personal, social and emotional development
  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding of the world
  • Expressive arts and design

Our children’s development is monitored and their progress recorded by means of Learning Journey reports. These ensure that each child is progressing to the best of their ability in preparation for school. We operate a key person system and activities are planned for each individual child, to extend their development.

A mixture of adult and child led activities are undertaken in a fun and friendly manner by qualified and experienced staff.
